Lawn to Wildflower Meadow Part 1

Having used Meadowscape Pro many times at Wildflower Turf.  I set about the challenge of converting this area of Pembrokeshire from lawn to wildflower meadow in 12 weeks. The area concerned was as on made up ground with more stone than soil it seemed and had been previously sown with a Ryegrass  and Fescue Mix. By using Meadowscape Pro very little ground preparation work was required which was ideal for this situation with such a high stone content.

It was impossible to use a turf cutter  to remove the existing turf or going to the additional expense of bringing in top soil and with it the probability of importing a new weed seed bank at the same time. So the area was sprayed off with glyphosate and we waited.

This Photo shows our finished wildflower meadow a different picture to what is was like at the beginning of April this year.Over the next few weeks we will show you how we went from lawn to a wildflower meadow bursting with life.
